Amish Country Bicycle Tour

The formerly called the Bob Galloway Amish Country Bicycle Tour (now the Amish Country Bicycle Tour) is hosted by the Decatur Bicycle Club and the Arthur Association of Commerce, usually on the third Saturday in September. Check the online calendar for this year;s exact dates.

The main ride headquarters will again be in DOWNTOWN ARTHUR at the Community Building  on East Progress St just East of the street from the Arthur Visitor Information Center. Parking will be marked, predominantly on the west side of the downtown, or in the Visitors Information Center lot.

Ride one mile or 100 miles in this family friendly bicycle tour around Illinois Amish Country. Our usually perfect early fall weather, fall color during the start of harvest season, the scenic Amish countryside, mostly flat country roads with little traffic, marked routes with Amish country shops along the way to visit, the Great Pumpkin Patch in full swing, and a great home cooked meal at the Christian School afterwards.

This ride offers 20, 40 and 60 mile loops perfect for all riders or bicycle types. There will be plenty of rest stops with snacks, fruit, and drinks along all of the routes. All routes are sagged. Pre-registration discount by mid August.

Upwards of 600 riders participate each fall making this one of the largest bicycle tours in Illinois. Free camping, plenty of food, safe roads, benefit breakfast, sag wagons, ride t-shirts, rest stops with snacks and drinks… all you need for a great weekend. Arthur Campingbob galloway ride

– located behind the Arthur High school, has 5 hookup sites with electric power, water, and shower/restrooms. No reservations are taken – First come-first serve. $10.00 per spot, the Police will collect your fee… There is plenty of room for tent camping there also at no cost. This camp area is only a couple of block from the ride registration area downtown.
